Happy New Year Eden!

 Welcome back to the first Wellness Wednesday of 2024! It's been a crazy week down on the farm since I wrote to you last week. Were were on the tail end of our crazy celebration week with Christmas, birthdays and our anniversary. Thanks to everyone who has been hanging in there for our 12 days of Christmas story and flash sales! There are only 3 days left!

For the Farmer and I's 22nd wedding anniversary he took me to a wonderful place called Acorn's Farmhouse Restaurant. It was in a house that was built in 1885 with plenty of shiplap, meals served in cast iron pans, antiques and farmhouse style food. I loved reading all the suggestions last week of those of you who wrote back giving the Farmer ideas on what we should do on our anniversary. It turns out he had the most fabulous idea and I was very impressed. Good job honey! I even managed to find a tea pot there ;) And the iced tea got a thumbs up though they probably should have some Farmhouse Teas on the menu 🤔

 We were not only celebrating our anniversary but we also shared some big news in one of our 12 days of Christmas emails - We paid off our house mortgage! We are so thankful for the support you give us all. From reading these emails, to sharing articles and of course your purchases all helped our dream to come true. We are excited to announce more big news soon as a result from now being Debt FREE!!!! (I still haven't called into Dave Ramsey to scream yet but I may have to schedule that). I can't wait to share this new news with you!

Top Herbs for Weightloss

As winter settles in so do the aches and pains in the joints especially for those who have arthritis. 

We are often asked if we have a tea for arthritis and joint pain. Which I guess makes sense with  58.5 million adults, or 24% of all adults, had arthritis in 2021! That's a big number and no joke - arthritis seriously hurts. Let's dive into some joint pain support!

Best Tea for Joint Pain & Arthritis

Wild Cherry Bark Cough Drops

• 1/2 cup Farmhouse Teas Wild Cherry Bark Syrup Mix
• 1 cup water
• 1 cup honey
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 10 drops peppermint essential oil (optional)

Directions

1. Place the wild cherry bark mix in a small saucepan and add the water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes.

2.  Strain the liquid through a cheesecloth-lined strainer into a bowl. Discard the solids. Add the honey and lemon juice to the liquid and stir to combine.

3.  Return the liquid to the saucepan and heat over medium heat until it reaches 300°F (hard-crack stage). If you don't have a candy thermometer, you can drop a small amount of the liquid into a bowl of ice water. If it forms a hard candy ball when you roll it between your fingers, it is ready.

4.  Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the peppermint essential oil (if using).

5.  Pour the liquid onto a silicone baking mat or parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Let it cool and harden completely. Alternatively silicoln molds may also be used. To use: Break off a small piece of the cough drop and let it dissolve slowly in your mouth.
