Easy Mocktail Recipes: Herbal, Kombucha Mocktails, & More

Jun 17, 2025
Easy mocktail recipes are a great way to celebrate the moment and not even miss the alcohol. Learn all about how to make your own mocktails!

I've never been able to drink alcohol — not even a glass of wine. Having non-alcoholic fatty liver disease paired with a compromised digestive system makes alcohol one of the hardest things for me to handle. Only a sip or two will have me sleeping in short order and will leave my digestive system feeling out of sorts.

What is a girl to do when there are guests and a drink might be in order, say, for a celebration? Or how about for those who just don't consume alcohol in general?

Easy mocktail recipes are a great way to celebrate the moment and not even miss the alcohol. In this post, we will be discussing some of the best reasons to drink mocktails and how you can make your own delicious alcohol-free beverages at home. From kombucha-filled mocktails to fruity tea mocktails, here are my favorite healthy mocktail recipes for sharing with guests.

Why Drink Mocktails

A mocktail is a non-alcoholic beverage that looks and tastes similar to a cocktail. Mocktails can be just as beautiful and delicious as regular old cocktails, and there are lots of reasons we think you will love them too!

If you can’t or simply don’t want to consume alcohol, mocktails are a fun way to enjoy a drink without the negative effects. People of all ages can enjoy them! They are great for parties and special occasions, but can also be served anytime you want something tasty to sip on.

One of my favorite things about mocktails is that they can be made with healthy ingredients like herbal tea or kombucha! Healthy mocktail recipes allow you to indulge in a tasty treat while also getting all the great benefits for your body.

On top of these benefits, ingredients tend to be more affordable when you ditch the alcohol. Easy mocktail recipes often look fancy but are actually inexpensive and simple to make!

Yes, you can still enjoy these healthy mocktail recipes even if you drink!

Mocktails aren’t just for those who can’t have alcohol or who want to live a sober lifestyle. Anyone can enjoy a tasty mocktail and have fun while drinking it!

And, if you do like alcohol, you can always add it to your favorite mocktail recipe. Of course, it won’t be a mocktail at that point, but our recipes are a starting place for you to make your own delicious concoction!

Key Components of Great Mocktail Drink Recipes

Here are some of the most essential components and common ingredients used to make mocktails, along with some information about the purpose each part serves.

  • Base: Some of the most popular base liquids include flavored water or fruit juices, which will provide the main flavor for the drink. Here on the farm, we love using kombucha and tea as the base in many of our favorite mocktail recipes!
  • Fizz: A little bit of fizz will make any drink feel fancy! You can use any carbonated beverage of choice, such as sparkling water or fruit juice, ginger ale, or even tonic water.
  • Sweetener: Simple syrups or fruit syrups are often used to add a little bit of sweetness to easy mocktail recipes. Some other great sweetener options include honey, agave, and maple syrup.
  • Citrus:  To balance out all of the flavors, add some citrus juice. Lemon juice, lime juice, orange juice, and grapefruit juice are all popular choices. Bottled juice can be used in a pinch, but we definitely recommend using fresh juice for the best results.
  • Fresh fruit: Adding a scoop of fresh fruit will infuse extra flavor into your drink while also adding more color and dimension.
  • Herbs and garnishes: Fresh herbs or garnishes will take the flavor to the next level and will also give your drink a stunning appearance. Mint leaves, fresh edible flowers, rosemary, and citrus peels are just a few ideas for what you can add!
